 ABOUT PILGRIM

Pilgrim Congregational Church belongs to the United Church of Christ denomination.  Pilgrim was organized as a Congregational church in 1866.  Pilgrim has made a commitment over the years to be an "open door" church--welcoming people of all backgrounds, cultures, and views.

Today, we are a proudly diverse congregation of people
who are at various points in life's journey.

Our Pastor, Reverend Cynthia Bumb
In 2003, Pilgrim Church called Reverend Cynthia "Cindy" Bumb as its Pastor.  Rev. Bumb graduated from the University of Evansville in Indiana, before attending and graduating from Washington University's George Warren Brown School of Social Work (MSW) and Eden Theological Seminary (MDiv) here in St. Louis.  Her hard work and dedication to social justice issues and her high regard within a variety of community circles in the St. Louis area made Pastor Bumb and Pilgrim Church a good match.  "Pastor Cindy" is married to the Reverend John Riggs, a faculty member at Eden Theological Seminary in St. Louis, and is the mother of Andrew and Abigail Riggs.
